Radio
One of the most amazing things to me ever, and as you can see I’m amazed pretty regularly, is the concept of the radio. If you take a deeper look, it seems a little ridiculous. Yes, let’s basically spray this invisible sound into the air and then we’ll have the skinny metal stick, that is attached to our car, catch it while we move at ridiculous speeds, making it so that we can hear the sound again. Does that seem ridiculously cool to anyone else or is it just me? Those invisible waves of amazingness, not only flow through the air but also throughout our history. Saving lives, telling stories, fighting wars, and just helping us make the memories and the human experience that much sweeter. It you love those waves of amazingness to, join me today while I tune in some classic jams, roll down the windows and celebrate the mind blowing power of radio.
Airplanes
The fact that we as humans can fly, like birds, in the sky, is amazing! Take a big metal bird shaped object put people inside and make it go really fast. That should do the trick, right? Flying is absolutely amazing; it’s something that people have dreamed about and made stories about since the dawn of time. Before the airplane if you wanted to travel to the far reaches of the world it would take months and even years, now it takes less than a day. Nice. Does anyone have a crazy flying story or an amazing destination?
Check out this video, I must admit that it partially inspired my flying post: Louis C.K. - Conan
Where’s George?: One Dollar’s Journey
I think the journey that money goes on during its lifetime is probably a really amazing one. They could call a dark, sweaty, pocket in Michigan home one day and then they’re being handed to a creepy guy for an ice cream cone in California the next. After that who knows, maybe the president could be throwing it down (*Note: I am not implying any relationship between the president and the creepy ice cream guy). In a way when we lay down the Benjamin’s (or Georges) we literally touch the lives of perhaps hundreds or thousands of people. So this whole “Where’s George?” concept intrigues me. I am going to send a dollar out with both http://www.wheresgeorge.com and www.itblowsmymind.com on it. Let’s see if I get anything interesting. If I do I'll post an update on the Where’s George Page.
Clouds
You got it, clouds blow my mind. You may have once thought that clouds were big flying balls of cotton candy, my daughter does. However, they are actually big things of life giving water floating miraculously in the sky above our heads, sorry. How long has it been since you last really looked at them, I mean like you did when you were a kid? It’s actually really relaxing picking out the shapes on a sunny day, “Hey there’s a deformed turtle” or “Wow, look at that bear riding a horse”. Needless to say I was never very amazing at it, but that’s not the point anyways. The point is that sometimes we just need to escape and enjoy the world we live in. Sometimes as adults, without realizing it, we can become like shadows just drifting through life. Not cool. So I have an idea for today, let’s find an open patch of grass, use our imaginations and take in the true beauty of the skies above? Who knows, maybe that giant whale in the sky might just wash away some of the stresses of life.
